There’s no such thing as permanently. You have to maintain a good figure after you accomplish it.
Just try a new diet. Losing weight doesn’t always mean you have to excersise (even though you should). If you want to lose weight and do nothing, eat healthier. If you want to lose weight faster, do both~

Start eating well, I like to maintain my weight at a healthy level by running, approx. 8 miles each day. Not that you should do this right away, Build up to it!
And you must commit yourself to this!

The best way to eat to lose weight and keep it off is to go vegetarian or vegan. I’ll give you a link to a Web site that will explain it all and give you some good recipes.
Eating a plant-based whole foods diet will typically reduce your weight by 10% automatically over a year’s time. That’s without exercise.
Toning your body is achieved by lifting weights and doing some kind of cardiovascular workout almost daily, such as running, swimming, brisk walking, or bike riding.
If possible, walk to school or to shopping. You can find opportunities to get exercise everywhere. Never take the elevator — run up the stairs, or at least walk briskly up them and down, too.
Find a sport you enjoy and get good at it. The martial arts are good for this, as well as for building mental and emotional fitness. Bicycling for long distances with a bike club is fun, you get great exercise that burns off the fat on your body while you see the sights and meet nice people. There’s usually one or more cycling clubs in any city.
Indoor "spinning" classes are also good ways to burn off excess weight. These are just my ideas because I’ve done a lot of cycling and road runs. The key is to find something YOU enjoy and do it frequently. BTW, I’ve always heard that slow cycling burns more calories than racing or sprints.
If you can’t make the transition to a vegetarian diet immediately, any move in that direction will help.
The main thing is to eat real foods: lots of vegetables, whole grains, beans, peas, nuts. Definitely cut out red meat and milk and cheese, which plug you up and slow your digestion. Fish is much better for you than any meat (less fat=much lower in calories). But really, you can get all the protein you need from vegetables, brown rice, oatmeal, etc.
It’s very important to root out any sodas or sweetened drinks, desserts, junk food — and even sugar-free items contain stuff like aspartame which is very toxic. Hard to do, but worth it.
It sounds like you’ve made up your mind to ditch the weight and that’s great. You will never go hungry or have to figure up how many calories you ate with this way of eating. You can eat as much as you want of the approved foods and not get fat, so it’s not a diet that you can’t wait to quit.
Go for it! Make losing weight your summer project.

Sounds like you just need to kick start your metabolism. Try eating five or six times a day rather than two or three. But make the meals much smaller and make sure they are healthy. Or you could just try cutting down your portions and eating more fruits and veggies. There are also several different supplements that can assist you with weight loss. This site lists a couple that actually worked.
