<p>Here is another episode in diet vs. exercise.  Today in the diet corner we once again have Brad Pilon, this time he will be snacking on 2 espresso brownies each weighing in at around 300 calories and he&#8217;ll wash that down with a 700 calorie Starbucks frappacino.</p>
<p>Representing the exercise corner, I&#8217;m going to perform a series of 1-armed kettlebell swings with a 35 pound kettlebell.</p>
<p>As Pilon gulps down the frappacino, I am working very hard at a pace neither I nor any other individuals in the gym would typically go at.  The point here is that individuals can mindlessly consume calories before and after meals and it not even register with them.</p>
<p>Now that Brad has finished off both of his snacks and consumed nearly 1400 calories, I have completed 60 snatches of the KB swings and burned about 50 calories.  Although the kettlebell swings did burn a lot of calories, in a<br />
short amount of time, it pales in comparison to the calories Pilon took in.</p>
<p>The results speak for themselves and t is very apparent that diet once again wins the battle in diet vs. exercise.  This is precisely why individuals who go to the gym and work really hard for an hour are not going to burn fat if<br />
they are consuming so many calories mindlessly.  You just can&#8217;t out train a bad diet.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://i.ytimg.com/vi/yAGYq_3b-d4/2.jpg" align="left">In the fourth video of the &#8220;Atkins Diet Quick Hits&#8221; series, I deal with a question I get from new people asking about a certain lower carb food or frankenfood and if it is ok due to its low carb. It is often not on the Acceptable Foods List or filled with ingredients not on the list.  This is when I get into the discussion why the first phase of the diet is more than just reduce your carbs to less than 20g per day.  </p>
<p>Here are the main goals of any Induction phase:<br />
1.) Get into ketosis and see its benefits<br />
2.) Get used to the food selection<br />
3.) Control one&#8217;s eating habits and prove that control to yourself<br />
4.) Set stage for future weight loss and ability to detect future problem foods when you readd them later</p>
<p>Not following the Induction rules and the Acceptable Foods List erodes the guarantee of your success.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://i.ytimg.com/vi/UheCchftswc/2.jpg" align="left">Here is a killer arm workout you can do at home with just a set of dumbbells to help get those huge guns, I&#8217;m sore for days after doing this workout.  This is an arm workout for the advanced bodybuilder, if you are new to bodybuilding please check my website for a more appropriate workout.  </p>
<p>There are six exercises, three for biceps and three for triceps.  The entire workout takes 45 minutes and there is very little down time.  Make sure you have done warm-up sets for both biceps and triceps before starting this workout because we start in with really heavy weights and you don&#8217;t want to get injured.  </p>
<p>Intensity and focus are really important when you do this workout.  Don&#8217;t hold back anything, treat every set as if it were your last.  I know I sound stupid with all my grunting and groaning but when I give it 110%, I can&#8217;t help it.  In this workout we do one exercise for biceps then without rest do the opposing triceps muscle.  Here is the workout:</p>
<p>Biceps: dumbbell curl using forced negatives<br />
Triceps: skull crushers</p>
<p>    Rest 60-90s while preparing dumbbells for next exercises</p>
<p>Biceps: Twenty-ones with barbell<br />
Triceps: narrow grip bench press</p>
<p>    Rest 60-90s while preparing dumbbells for next exercises</p>
<p>Biceps: reverse grip barbell curls<br />
Triceps: dumbbell kick backs</p>
<p>Repeat the above five times, the complete workout should take about 45 minutes.  If you don&#8217;t like reconfiguring the dumbbells all the time you can also just do each bicep/triceps combo 5X and then move on to the next combo. </p>
<p>Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn&#8217;t have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. A cheap dumbbell set from a garage sale or walmart is all it takes to get started with your home workouts. </p>
